If I disconnect all the wires and remove the driver door panel will the orange wire on the electric locks still have power?
So if I touch two of the 3 wires should the lock actuator function?
EDIT: Or does the power go through one of the connectors in the door panel and then to the wires connected to the "lock/unlock" switch so that the panel must be connected in order to get power to the "lock/unlock" switch?

what are you trying to do?

do you want to remove the door panel and still make the door lock work from the inside? or am I reading this wrong?

Replaced the window regulator and am in the process of re-installing everything. All that is left is the panel and so far I don't have any power locks. Would like to be sure everything works before I close it up.

If you just disconnected them from the switch than yes they should still work by momently touching them together.

Did some crawling around and under and found a pinched/cut wire... repaired it, replaced the fuse and I'm back in business.
It's a 1985, there are 3 wires. Orange (always hot), blk is unlock, gry or blu is lock. It does function independent of the panel, that is, if you just touch 2 wires they will work.
Thanks to all for the help,
Frank
