Default Problem with door sills from ZIP.

Ok, so i got my LT4 door sills 2 weeks ago. I immediately went out to the car and tried to put them on. The holes don't line up. You would THINK that door sills made for an LT4 would fit an LT4!?!!? but they don't. The screw holes dont' line up at all. I e-mailed ZIP about it and have heard nothing since. Anyone else have problems getting them to fit? I'm not going to go drilling extra holes in two pieces of painted metal with etching in them that I paid around $100 for. They should fit! :mad :mad

You know. I got my Sills from MAD, but I never did drill holes. I just used the double-sided tape to hold them in place. Seems to work.

Well, that's an idea, buy you DON'T sell a product that doesn't fit what it's made for, i'm sorry.... that is not propery way of conducting business.

I do.....tell them you will tell us and we will boycott them......

Isn't ZIP a supporting vendor? They should respond to this thread.

Yep, they should fit... Since they aren't responding to your emails, just page one of them in the ZIP products section. Tell them you are unhappy and would like to try another pair.

When I changed out my interior, I put a '96 interior into my '93, well the passenger side door sill, the holes didn't line up and this is an original GM part, so I figured I would use the '93 door sills I had bought and the holes didn't line up either. I started to make a new hole in teh body to line up with teh ills, but canned it, half the screws are missing on that car anyway, what's one more?

I bought some for my 90 and they did not fit either. The holes were drilled too high up. I was able to slot the holes and make it work but it should have fit out of the box.

I won't. :nono: I think this is way over the line, seeing as you have had no involvement with his situation.

Curtis, I got mine from Zip as well, and they fit like a glove. Have you tried calling them? I've always had success with them in the past.

My guess is that they sent you the set for the '88-'89 sills instead of the set for the '90-'96 sills. The sills are the same but the holes are in different places.

MA actually has different part numbers to account for this difference.

I've been extremely busy with school and work and i barely get time to call anyone lately :( I would have expected an e-mail to be good enough.

Sorry... I would have responded MUCH sooner but I was out all last week. If no one has gotten back to you at this point, send me an e-mail at wtaylor@zip-corvette.com and I will take care of the problem. Or, if you'd like, call me at 800.962.9632 ext. 248.
