This time its for keeps!
Hello all,
I sold my beloved 1987 Corvette coupe back in December of 2017 because I wanted to upgrade to a C5. My heart sunk as my C4 of 6 years was being driven away by the new owner. I thought to myself that this would be the only car I would ever buy back. I bought my C5 in April of 2018 and, while it is a superb and totally different Corvette, I missed my C4. I reached out to the new owner late last summer and inquired about the Corvette. She was not ready to sell and told me that she loved it. I enjoyed the C5 for the year but it never felt like it was mine. During this time my daily driver Jeep broke, high dental bills, and lending money to family members drained my account. I could no longer justify this C5 so it sold to a new buyer. That same weekend, as fate would have it, my C4 became available and the owner graciously remembered that I was interested and gave me a call. Today I picked it up with barely 100 more miles on it. A day of cleaning it and it looks as I remembered it. This is one of the few cars that really feels mine.
Great to be back...this forum is the best of all of them out there.

I know EXACTLY how you feel! I felt the same way when I sold my '87 4 years ago this month. As far as I was concerned, nothing brought me the same amount of driving joy that that '87 did. Not a '74 vette. Not a '76 vette. Not a 1980 Z28. Nothing. As there was no chance of buying my '87 back, I kept a casual eye out for another early C4. One day, *poof* there it was...a low mile 1986 with ALL of the options I wanted, and as an added bonus it's a Z51 car. As is with you, so it is with me....this one is here to stay!
I tell that story only to highlight how I understand the magnetism and the hold these early C4's have on some of us. It's powerful!!
Congrats on your homecoming...and thanks for sharing a your story!!

Thank you for the warm welcome back. There is nothing like a C4.
