I just want to buy one that will fit and will be shopping on Amazon. Can someone help?
Most of the ones you buy are too large in diameter to fit in the cig lighter port, they hit the cup holder apparatus. Believe me i tried, and if you do wiggle and push it around enough for it to make contact to power up, you cant close the cup holder/ashtray door.
So.... what I did was buy a auxiliary 12 volt power port from Oriellys. I put ring terminals on the power and ground wires, hooked them to the battery, zip tied the power port on the backside of the die angle cross brace above the battery, plugged my blue tooth transmitter in it, shut the hood, start listening to Pandora. Its always powered this way, and not enough draw to pull the battery down if its parked in the garage a week.
I bought this, hidden in back console...yes a bit pricey, but works awesome and sounds much better then all the FM transmitters I had tried in the past as it intercepts the FM antenna signal to help reject existing stations!
I bought a Soundfly years ago and love it. I load my music on a micro-sd card on my laptop, plug the card into the transmitter, plug the transmitter into the cigarette lighter and go. Fits perfectly and is easy to read and access. It comes with a remote too. I don't see them on Amazon anymore but this is one I am going to buy as an upgrade from my older unit:
I've used other FM modulator/transmitters before, and none have worked all that well, but the Nulaxy KM24 has been the exception. I was quite surprised at how well it works. Just like listening to a commercial broadcast station. No static. It does fit into the lighter socket on my '94 Vette, and can be positioned to clear the shifter.
