I have no clue what you are talking about. but I would not screw with a 8K mile car

What is your car valued as now?
C4's don't rust and rot in junk yards. They did not go through the "muscle car era". You have a low mile chevy with a high performance package.
They are worth more than a base, not "valuable" in the world of cars that are "valuable".
Not in demand, not in short supply.
Mod it or drive it.

Not familiar with GTECH (or whatever). But, if you're concerned about NCRS points, you DON'T want to add anything to the paint. But, if you're going to drive it, I'd do exactly what you are doing: get some info and product reviews from ppl that have used it and then decide.
I've seen some exotic paint treatments costing thousands of $$ that are really impervious to most all normal road hazards. I might be interested IF I had the $$. But, I'm using a polymer product (Zaino) which revolutionized decades of what I considered as proper paint product. I haven't seen anything else so superior to what I'm using now that I'd want to take the plunge.
Final thought: Save the money for some of the mods every stock ZR-1 is dying to have! YMMV.
P.S.
