Wheel Issue 1990 c4 Convertible
I purchased 4 new After Market 17x9.5 inch to fit the 4 stock 17x9.5 stock wheels. The rear set fits fine but the front does not have sufficient clearance above the front ball joints. A 3/4 inch wheel spacer on each wheel will correct this. Is this an acceptable solution?
I am surprised that they do not fit. I run 17x9.5 stock wheels on my 1990 with no issues. Is the offset on the new wheels correct? The wheel would not fit over the suspension but with the stock offset it sits about one half inch from the front suspension. It is the offset that is key.
Spacers will work but it sounds like the wheels are not the correct ones with proper offset.
Offset is cast into the rear of the wheel. Post the info off of the wheel - maybe you've just a packaging problem and also post a snapshot of the front suspension with a wheel removed.
Very possible but have no knowledge. The existing wheels are 17x9.5 and fit perfectly. Could these be a zero offset? They are original factory wheels.
You need to get off the A$$ and get info on wheel back-side and post a snapshot of suspension with 'wheel off'! You've got 2 threads started regarding these. It's impossible for anyone to just guess!! It's your turn to present valid information!!
