Dyno Disasters?
Anyone been part of or witnessed a dyno disaster? I was at a dyno day when a ricer blew the engine. They just mopped up the dyno and yelled "next"!!! It must have been just as tough to be the next guy as it was for the owner of the car that blew up. :yesnod:

It's always a good time when attending a dyno session to sneak up to the owner of the car that is cresting 5,000 RPM for the first time;

Not in person, but I saw a video clip of an LS1 Trans Am, on nitrous I think. Maybe it was posted here. Anyways, it backfired and blew the air intake lid clear off the car!!

I saw an aluminum 427 come apart on an engine dyno back in 68. The place got real quiet and everyone left........ I was the counter person at a speed shop in Jersey at the time ............ ooooops............ I'd like to have the remains even NOW but the engine was scrapped........ sounded pretty for a while though :seeya

Breathless Performance was at a main show in Orlando once I was watching a car Dyno and they had the hood up and something broke a pully or something it hit 6 people one was standing next to me and it broke his glasses. 4 people had minor cuts from it. So now I laugh when I see them anywhere with their dyno the hood is closed for safety.
