Having trouble with the driver seat not wanting to move forward only makes a popping noise is there a relay for the seat , not sure if it’s the seat base any ideas?
The gears in the seat rack are usually the issue as 65ZO1 mentioned. Ecklers sells rebuilt units for a couple of hundred dollars. The clicking you described is a dead give away that the gears are shot.
My '91 has the same problem. If I'm not sitting in the seat, it will move under power, so I can at least have the seat where I want it.
From what I've researched, it needs a new set transmission with fresh gears in it. You can buy the gears separately and rebuild the transmission yourself if you want to spend the time and save a few bucks, but it doesn't seem worth it for the cost of a replacement. There is at least one video on YouTube for this. A few vendors sell the transmissions for around $150, others are around $200 or more. I can't remember if those are new or rebuilt.
If you're going the replacement route, you have to pull the old one and see which size main shaft you have, there are two (at least on the '91, not sure about other years). I haven't had the chance to pull the old one out yet, so I can't tell you more than that.
