Default checking / charging AC

96 LT1

The AC was not working very well when we bought the car years ago and I added some 134 and it improved to the "acceptable" level. I was going blind without proper gauge set though. I have since acquired full manifold set. When I hook up the gauge set, what kind of pressures should I be looking for in a properly operating system? Should I hook and check both high and low sides?

Thanks

Get a copy of the service manual, also servicing the A/C is temperature dependent.

If you want to get close - watch a U Tube Vid and compensate for the temperature.

Indeed pressures/ranges are quite dependent on environmental conditions along with type of refrigerant; refer to available charts on A/C.

I found a leak. It's the pressure switch in the suction line (low side). The fitting on the switch has a tiny crack. Is this the low pressure cut off switch? If not, what's it called so I can order a new one? Thanks
