I don't think so.
You don't say what year, but IIRC most all C4s have VATS. If the system doesn't detect the correct key resistance, it will disable several systems (starter, fuel injectors, etc)
So, is the key in the ignition switfch?

key wont start
1996 sloppy key and no start yes key is in , or was took apart and the ignition rod wont move ether way, down or up, didn't go father lost 1 gallon, soaking wet ill get after it again was hoping to start by rod with key to move to shop its in carport at house and 200 feet from tools ,thanks for reply
