In my 95, on the bottom of the inside rear view mirror, there are two "map" lights. The one on the passenger side has a second light behind a small angular slit. How/when does that one come on??

That is a light that shines on the center console (shifter area) when the headlights are turned on. Really neat feature - I wish my '84 had it... In fact I'm always looking for that rearview mirror to install in my car.
Ha!! Thanks Chris. I just tried it and it does work. I've only had it a week and haven't driven it at night yet. Are you in either of the local Corvette clubs?
