Default 1994 possible water pump problems

Just purchased this 1994 coupe. changed oil/filter and trans fluid. Noticed this after sitting all night a small puddle of antifreeze (maybe 1'x1") under the cross member area.

In two weeks I'm part of the NE Ohio Corvette Museum Caravan. I DO NOT WANT A MECHANICAL

I cannot locate any weeping but did see a drop or two on cross member. I have buddy who is parts manager at major Chevrolet dealer so I can get pump at almost cost but Opti not sure what to do about it? Dealer cannot get them anymore and if I have to have water pump done I'd just do the Opti. Car has 104K on her.

Water pump isn't something I have time to do and there's a reputable shop I'll take her there next week for inspection. If pump needs changed where would be best place to get Opti?

I would probably sell my OEM Opti , I don't need it and someone may need a good used one which would end up reducing my overall costs. Suggestions/advice please

If the car runs good then don't bother messing with the opti. The OEM units with the good Mitsubishi sensor has been out of production for a long time. I personally bought a cheap unit and put my OEM optical sensor in the new housing. Siliconed the housing (even though it had gaskets) and it works great. I have heard good things about the SACcity opti units. (https://www.saccitycorvette.com/AIPOptiSpark.html) I don't run one myself though. Also a guy on ebay that tests units with old equipment to confirm they are working. (idk if he rebuilds or tests new units) Honestly if I was you I would leave the OEM one alone and do the water pump. The opti has a bad reputation and they get it from the dum-dums in our hobby.... the opti is quite bulletproof.

I got mine from rock auto, no issues. Its just whatever brand was inexpensive. I would just check with the shop that they dont require you to use their parts.

If you replace the water pump before it "lets go" and soaks the opti .... there is no reason to change out the opti. I'd go with AC delco WP but that's me.

I have used Delco and I have used a $30 Amazon unit. Both had a blown bearing when removed from the car with under 5k miles. I now use an electric WP on the Vette. The Caprice uses another cheap Amazon unit. Seems to work fine. Has like 40k on it and it was like $30.

I had to buy new OEM Ac Delco off ebay. Not Summit and certainly not my local Chevrolet dealer had them in stock. Summit said min. two weeks.

$140 free shipping about $38 more than Summit or Amzon but neither had in stock two week wait. I'm part of NE Ohio Caravan and am up against it time wise so bought off ebay
