Are there any fans??? Are you kidding??? There were over 53,000 sold in '84, way more than your year!!!
I've got more than 240,000 miles on my '84 CFI, and the throttle bodies have never been removed from the manifold top plate, and the balance linkage is still as welded from the factory! Sure, I've done a few things to get it to run better, but what 'vette owner doesn't do that? It just has a few tricks that are different than the later 'vette's. The GM engineers are a busy bunch of guys, building better performing cars every year.
I shut down a Tesla yesterday. (I think the driver was sleeping.)
The only thing about crossfire to be concerned about is the " Experts" who don't know what they are doing working on them. Crossfire was a short run 82-84 corvette and f bodies and largely misunderstood. Hell, EFI was largely misunderstood in the 80's.

Not just misunderstood in the 80's...it still is today too! So much of the crossfire bashing I read is nothing more than "internet parroting" and NOT from those squawkers own personal experience.
CBMZR1 - Nab that '84 as soon as you can!! Then come back and show us all how well you did!
I'm a huge fan! My 84 Corvettes were amazing cars that performed admirably and handled exemplary! They are rock solid reliable to boot. I did however maintain them myself and took pride in doing so. I would never hesitate to own an 84!

I’d be careful with Tesla’s. I ran one at the track last week. It was in the 90’s. I ran a 10.611 to HER 10.619. I’m in a trailered race car. She drive off the freeway.
If you are referring to my ZR1, yes, I am aware. Only 11 were made in 2012 w my color... mine is 1 of 2 w the cashmere interior. But we are not talking about my C6ZR1...
I have owned 2 C4's... a 93.. and a 96 CE.. So, I am familiar... Not looking for a lecture of why one is better than the other... Merely inquiring if the 84 is worth buying for a daily... I have read posts and most love the cars. Also looking at a 90 w a few more miles and a 95....
LT1's are great engines other than the Opti... L98's are pretty much bullet proof if maintained.
Thanks for replying. I appreciate it.

Reading the other posts I am feeling a little better now. this one is a 1 owner 64K miles... Silver/Gray w Silver interior. It is a very nice car. It has sat for quite sometime... But seems very nice.. Owner seems forthright, small oil leak.. Other than that seems to be in good condition. Here is a pic of the actual car.
Isn't there a C&C meet next weekend in Southlake? Do you own an 84 currently? I'd love to gtg... Thanks for the offer.
BTW... I am almost 55... I have owned more 3rd, 4th gen Fbods than I can count. I remember the 86 Z28's w the CFI,,,, I actually owned an 85 IROC I considered trading in on the 86 Z28 w the CFI but changed my mind at the last min ( impulse buy)
The C4 whichever year I decide on will be used to drive... cruise...
Thanks again for all of the feedback.

I'm local and would be glad to chat. I had a XFire and loved it; no problems.
I bought a new 84 and kept it two years and not a complaint at all. I purchased a 84 back in 2011 and completely restored it. I love to drive it and with the work I did to the new motor I built for it made the car a lot of fun to drive around. Drive it and enjoy it.
Obviously not racing this car....Not buying it to race Tesla's....
It would be more of a cruiser and I would switch between it and my 07 TB SS...
One of the SS guys. I like. There was a pretty low mileage one avaiable last year I was going to nab to replace my regular TB with the 6 cylinder... but I couldn't take the hit on mileage. Put 55k miles on my truck last year and finally decided to replace it. If GM still built those trucks I'd own one in a heartbeat. They were great looking and driving vehicles across all trims and models.
As for an 84, there ain't much to go wrong. Its throttle body injection with about 12 sensors... I wouldn't be too worried about it as long as it's been taken care of.
