hi all , recently dropped my hush panel its apparent
that its been removed before. evidence being the nut near the firewall end of the panel is missing. just wondering if anyone knows what size it is, i'd like to refit it properly if possible
No information in your profile regarding the C4. Year and other information may get more responses. I have a parts catalog for 84 to 91 and can look up most parts with more info.
right on fiberbundle its a 93 ruby ragtop. you mention a parts catalogue thru 91. let me know what size the 91 is. it'll be a good place to start
thanks
The bad news is the parts catalog does not show the specific screws as I thought it would. However One of my C4s is a 92 and I know most parts are the same. Take a picture of exactly what you are looking for and I will measure the one in my car.
Also some of the suppliers sell an interior screw kit that has one of every screw needed for about $30. Southern Auto, mid America, etc. They mention covering 84 to 93 so I know your 93 and mine should have the same screws. Also midrock in PA sell a “ a box of bolt and screws” for C4s that is 20# of metal that has some of everything. I have not had a need for anything else since buying one.
Nice Ruby!
thanks fiberbundle its actually a nut that im lookin for. thetes a fixed threaded stud at the fire wall that passes thru the hush panel. i have an interior screw kit but thats what it is all screws. its a trip to the hardware store for me no big deal. it probly won't b black but its outta sight any way and will do the trick
It will be metric, do you have a dial caliper ? If so, measure the diameter of the stud and multiply it by 25.4. That will give you the metric diameter. It should be a common thread pitch and easy to get at the hardware store.
If you are referring to the bolt you see just under the steering column it does not have an actual nut. It is held on the bolt by one of those push nut washer type hold downs. Not sure what they are called but are used on C4s in various places (rear carpet hold down in back of the car). Looks like a stamped washer that has “slots” cut into it.
