I have a 1990 vette with the original bose stereo. It has worked fine. I replaced all the amps and have had no problem. Recently the battery died in it and it has been sitting idle for a few weeks. Since fixing the battery, my stereo has been acting strange. For one, when the car is started, the clock stays on the time while the car is running. When the car is turned off and back on again, the clock adjusts to the right time but then again stays stuck on the current time when started. Also, the radio has very very little volumn even when cranked to the max. It can barely be heard. Also, no matter what channel I select it stays on the same channel. My question is this. Is it the security system thats engaged since it lost power for so long. The manual says the radio becomes inoperable when power is lost and a security code is set. Does inoperable mean these symptons or does it not work at all. Just trying to figure out if the radio has crapped out or the security system is engaged. I have never set a code and it is a previously owned vette. Is there a way to reset the code if it has one programmed. Thanks
Disconnect the battery....give it a full recharge...then hook it up again.....see if this dosen't reset your ECM...it should if not....well ????????????????

Re: Bose Stereo (oldace84)
I'm not sure but I think there may be some system within the car that creates this situation. When my battery is fully charged the problem goes away completely. In other words, the two or three times this past summer I let my battery run low (another story) I noticed this situation. Recharge the battery and the problem goes away. :yesnod:
Sorry it took so long. I had a death in the family and just got back in town. I put the charger on her last night and will give it a try today. I'll update you this afternoon
