Default C4 Side view mirros question

I have a 1995 and I've noticed that some of the same year have the black wind deflector attached to the mirror housing and some don't. Why would that be ? was it part of a option package ? Just being curious.

I have seen a lot of owners adding these as aftermarket upgrades. Some owners are bothered by the wind noises.

My old '92 convertible had them and so did my '87 coupe. My '93 coupe does not have them and I will be getting a set soon. With the door window down, there is a strong current of air blowing right at my head. It can get bothersome at freeway speeds if those pieces are not there.

BTW, it would be a good idea to stay far away from Corvette Mods. They have a poor reputation here with many members having issues with them. These deflectors are all within a few buck at the other reputable Corvette accessories vendors.

i had these on one of my coupes and for some reason, if i recall (it's been over 20 years) but i dont think i liked them, i think they caused a "wind noise" that annoyed me.
My Vert also had them and I didn't have any issues with that car (its a soft top so it's noisy anyways plus I had Magnaflows on her)
