I just bought a 85 that i am trying to bring back from the dead. I just have a simple question. What does the switch that is located next to the light switch do? Mine is all rubbed off so i can't see anything on it. I tried rocking it to see what happened but i actually broke it in the process so now I need to replace it. But I haven't been able to find any info on it.

It doesn't bother me, but the OP was counting on your superb experience on this Forum to give him some good advice. He's the one to whom you owe the apology, not me.

I said parking lights meaning fog lights. Sorry I'm the only one that makes mistakes

Thanks for the reply's . The pull out switch Light switch was missing the **** also so i wasn't sure. The headlights do work when i pull it out. everything that works is a surprise on this car. To answer the other fellow that asked. I just got the car from a woman whose husband died. It does not run as of yet , but i am working on it. I didn't get an owners manual but she did give me a service manual and i also have a Chiltons and neither one has any info i could find so thats why i came here.
Welcome to the Corvette community. It's a wild place. I'm pretty sure your mystery switch is for the fog lights as has been stated. Note that the fog lights only illuminate when the main headlight switch is in the parking light or headlight position. When the bright headlights are engaged the fogs go out.
You will soon learn which of us know something and which of us are supporting. Not sure I qualify for either, but try to help when I think I know something. Glad to see you're trying to bring an early model back to life.
