Default 84-89 custom digital dash update

Hello all, this is my first post so please go easy.

So, I am working on designing my own dash for 84-89 models that uses actual digital displays and a fully digital circuit but still connects to the factory wiring and will use the dash box so it looks stock and can just be an easy replacement if anyone is interested in it they can buy one and easily install it. I don't know if this is agest the rules, I didn't see anything that said it was, but I thought I would post updates here and questions I might have that you guys hopefully will be able to help me with because I currently don't own a C4 due to not having space to park and work on it.

Questions:

None at the moment, check back for any.

Updates:

1) initial design and programming have begun, ordering parts to build a test circuit

2) Sorry for the lack of updates. The code was kicking my back side and then my computer decided to stop doing what's it's supposed to. But I'm now able to get back too it and hopefully I can get this done in the beginning of the new year.

Information for those wondering:
1) the 2 outsides screen holes in dash are 4 1/8 x 3 5/8 and the middle one is 5 5/16 x 1 7/8

This sounds very interesting. I have subscribed.

Curious, are you a hobbyist or EE by training? What brought you to this idea?

I am a hobbyist. So my dream car is a C4 and I know that is a common part that fails, so I thought that this would be a good starting point on my list of things I want to upgrade to make it perfect. I also wanted to include other information on screen if I wanted to and have a switch that switched it from stock look to moded look.

So if you get a chance can you measure the screens of a stock dash. You don't need to do any disassembly just use a ruler to measure the inside of the cutouts for the screens. That would be much appreciated if you can.

Thank you. From the looks of it its going to be about $230 for the screens, upside tho they will all be touch screen so more possible features in the future.

It's too bad that C4s dont use OBD2, if they did you could mount some tablets and run an app like Torque.
