On my 1984 Corvette the check engine light is on it came on when the car was running really rough I know it is the oxygen sensor all repairs have been done so how can I make the check engine light go outDo I need to just drive it to make it clear itself because I cannot locate a OBD scanner for this vehicle hope to hear from someone soon I guess if push comes to show of I could just change the oxygen sensor
According to the '84 FSM (pg. 6E2-4): "If the problem goes away, the light will go out after 10 seconds, but a Trouble Code will remain stored in the ECM".
I presume you know how to read the Trouble Codes. Have you fixed the problem that was identified by the Trouble Code?
After the problem is fixed, you can erase the Trouble Code that was stored in the ECM by disconnecting the battery for about 10 seconds. If you have not fixed the problem, the Check Engine light will come on again.
