The cooling fan on my 1984 Corvette start running soon as you turn the key on is that a sign of a faulty cooling fan sensor need to know before I go out and buy another cookie cooling fan sensor hope to hear from someone soon the. It stops when you turn the key off.
Have you identified the cooling fan sensor? In the '84, it's in the RH head, between spark plugs 6 & 8. Squeeze the sides of the connector to unplug it. Does the fan still run when you turn on the ignition?
If the fan still runs, your problem is NOT the temp. sensor. Has someone installed a manual control switch, or connected the sensor wire (green at the relay) to ground?
Another thing to check: Is the sensor in the a/c compressor okay? If the fan still runs with the key on, unplug the connector at the compressor (same type connector). The a/c pressure switch is closed when the a/c is on. This is for the '84 only.
