Default Wheel question

I am looking to "square off" my '96 with 9.5" A molds. They are difficult to find and ebay has 1 wheel listed $350.

My question is are the aftermarket wheels the same quality as OEM?

If so, what is a good brand/seller

TIA

Not the same quality: they are probably heavier and cast in China these days. However, that doesn't mean they aren't serviceable. I have a set of 17x11 AFS A-mold copies that do just fine. My only caveat in your case is that they may not look exactly the same as your OE wheels.

Most replica wheels are pretty reasonable quality nowdays. 10 to 15 years ago, not as much. But the quality of them has improved a lot since then.

My daily wheels are replica a molds for a camaro. They work well, and were not in great shape when I bought them appearance wise but held up and are straight and true.

Not quite the same, but take a look for Camaro SS wheels. They are the same manufacturer as the 17 x 8.5 or 9.5 Corvette wheels, but they are 17 x 9.0. They look the same and the Camaros come with 275/40/17 tires.

I found these are much cheaper and more available than the Corvette wheel. I bought one set for $75 and one set for $250. The $250 set looks brand new.

Just another option for an OEM wheel that might be a better price. The picture below is my '96 with the Camaro SS wheels.

Good luck.

They look great. What year Camaro SS should I look for?

I think they were used on about '96 to '97 or so. The later Camaro SS wheels went to a different style (I think a 10 spoke design)

When I was looking, they were showing up on craigslist pretty often.

Good luck.
