1984 C4 brake issue
Several things went through my head, besides burning the car down, like master cylinder, pinched rear brake line, frozen calipers, clogged flex lines. All have been replaced or rebuilt . I had a friend come over today to help me bleed the brakes. They lock down, front before the rears. I think only the fronts would actually lock up if I was to jam on the brakes. Hard to tell how much pressure has been put to the rears. The lines come straight off the master cylinder. No brake bias or proportioning valve, or anything. 2 lines for the front brakes and one for the rear. I put it on the lift, followed the rear line to a T fitting on the driver side, then follow to either rear side. No kinks or pinched line.
Help?!?! Bleeding the brakes are a pain but did that today. The fronts gush with lots of pressure, the rears, not so much but my help said the pedal went down as the fluid came out. I am used to getting a lot more from the rears from other cars I have bled the brakes on. I don't see any options for another type master cylinder so pretty sure I have the correct one. It matched the one that was on when I got the car and it acted the same way. Should it have an external brake bias/proportioning valve on it?
Thanks
Russ
