I have a 1995 coupe with 66,000 miles.
I have the ZF6 package along with additional sway bars and new RideTech shocks.
How do you know when to replace bushings?
No squeaky noise car feels very tight.
Depends on the bushing. For control arm bushings (real pita btw) if you can rock your hub front to back, you need new bushings. Sway bar bushings typically give you a jangling or clunking noise.
that said, upgrading to poly bushings will improve even new bushings, in terms of stiffness. Sometimes, that stiffness is not desired. My 92 with about 130k on it at the time, bushings were 75% ok, 25% worn. I ended up buying a whole car kit and redoing almost all of them anyways.

My rubber bushings look 25 years old, ( I looked better 25 years ago also LOL) This is my first corvette I have owned and it feels very tight going down the road and in turns. Not really looking for a stiffer ride. I guess I should let someone drive it that knows what to look for.
Thank You

I replaced the bushings in my 84 with the polyurethane set. It did stiffen the ride and that is ok with me. It is a weekend cruiser and I do not track the car. There is a company that makes a rubber set of bushings that I think is in Australia IIRC. There are a lot of threads about Poly bushings on the forum. A google search will yield them.
The bushings that came out of my car were badly deteriorated. They did need changed for sure. If you do use Poly bushings be sure and use plenty of the recommended lube when installing them. I purchased a 8 oz tub of extra lube and I was glad I did. It has been two years and no squeaks as of this time.
