Hi everyone I had an issue starting my car. Figured it out to be a sulfated battery. In my effort to fix it I replaced the starter bench tested and armature extends and spins but when I install it grinds and it won't crank. I have a brand new battery with a good charge. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Tim
If you turn on your headlights and try it, does everything go dim, dash lights too? If so, I'd check the big ground wire bundle that is attached to the back of the block on the driver side bell housing.
Also check those big battery cable ends to the battery. Sometimes there gets to be a clear glaze on of them that doesn't make good contact with the battery. Nice and shiny ends on both ends of the big cables should spin that starter unless it is binding.
