Saw this while on Ebay.
If the seller's description is true , this would have been the gauge cluster if the digital dash didn't work.
It looks like an OEM piece. Very cool. But I wouldn't give him $3,500 for it. Yesterday it was listed at $6,500.
I've seen this before as well. I'm glad they got the Atari dash ready in time. It is one of my favorite parts of the early C4's. I love being able to know the exact coolant temp and voltage. I find the analog temp and voltage gauges in my PU to be useless.
Do an Amazon search for C4 Corvette analog dash. Fits 84-89 and listed at $395
That is actually pretty nice, most analog dashes I see I haven't liked at all but this one is nice, if I was ever going To swap I'd do this dash. Decent price too. I wonder if you can get it in a metric version for us non-USA corvette owners?
I do like my digital dash a lot though...
As far as the Plan B, corvette dash, its a cool piece of history and I think it would have looked decent in the C4 had the digital dash not worked out. I wouldn't pay that kind of money for it though... Maybe some museum will want it.
That looks just as cheap and crappy as any aftermarket guage setup somebody had a brain storm to install in the car. I once saw a factory prototype picture of the C4 guage setup installed in an 82,it was completely finished, not some hack job and it looked really nice.
I could swear this was posted before. Guess it didnt sell then, and won't sell now. They wanted like a crapload of money for it last time.
correct - https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...prototype.html - looking at the old post, they were asking $20K. guessing it didn't sell at twenty, and i'd almost be willing to bet it won't sell at $4K either. like it or not, the Atari dash is a design feature of the early C4. it's part history and today, kind of retro -
That's a lot of money for a dash. Even at a less shocking price, that thing is going to need to find just the right buyer.
If I absolutely had to have analog guages (a huge step backwards IMO, the Atari dash is one of the reasons I bought an early C4) in my car I could build one with much nicer guages for a whole lot less money.
