Bad torque converter?
I have an 87’ with the l98 and 700r4 auto transmission, when I was getting on the highway the other day, rpms spiked and I lost power. Revved the car a little bit and it would still go at speed, however when I got off the highway and pulled over it would not go anywhere. At first I just assumed I blew the transmission, however after getting it back to my house I was able to back it up at high rpms. I’m not sure what the cause of this would be. Transmission fluid looks good, no leaks anywhere and doesn’t smell burnt. I’m not totally sure what it is and was wondering if someone could give me some information if they know anything, really appreciate it!

When my trans went out on my 93, it only had 1st and 2nd gear. What if you manually shift the gears? Will it work like that? Also, make sure your TV cable is set correctly. Don't remember how, as I own a zf6 c4 now. Otherwise, I'd tell you.
