Looks pretty fair... maintenance records are a must if you can get them. 81k isnt too bad on miles... too bad it doesnt have a 3rd pedal though. Good luck to you.
Could be a great deal if everything works and there's no obvious leaks of fluids underneath it. I'm surprised this '96 doesn't have a CD player in it's in-dash stereo, especially if it's a Collectors Edition. My standard '96 Coupe even has one.

Yes, this is a good car at a fair price. Just make sure that all the buttons and switches work. Also look a the rubber around the window sills and moulding.... these go bad and are a PITA to replace.
Other than than, don't think to hard and pull the trigger. You can spend the next year looking for a car in as good a shape for $500 less or go drive it today.
It has +80K miles and not one rock chip on the nose? It's a recent re-paint.
Not saying you're wrong, but at the same time I don't know if that's necessarily true. Mine has 76k and looks about like that, in a picture.
OP, I think the car looks pretty nice and clean, interior and all. As long as everything works and the high dollar items are in good shape (like the weather strip that was mentioned, how old are the tires, etc.) then I wouldn't be afraid of it. Can you get a Carfax report?
I like my CE, even though it's just a paint and appearance package.

If there's little or no documentation, you can probably get it cheaper especially if you are a serious buyer with "cash in hand."
But if it's got a good maintenance history then that price is pretty fair. Nice car if you want an automatic.
So I dont know what the deal is with that car. But it looks like a good deal to me. I would be tempted if I didnt just buy one.
I didn't look this one up, but don't read too much negative into the fact that it's sold many times in eBay. That usually happens because people win bids and don't pay up. Look through the sold listings for just about any make/model and you'll see the same thing. Look at the dates they're relisted. In most cases, it's pretty quick - it's not a car that was rejected after inspection, it's a deal that wasn't completed. That's not to say any particular car isn't a bad one and is repeatedly rejected for that reason. It can certainly happen, but don't assume that's the case just because the car had to be relisted several times - it happens A LOT.
eBay history is a good bargain tool, though. The harder a time the seller's had getting a deal done on eBay, the more leverage you have to get a better price from him. It also shows the prices the car pulled on eBay which, if much lower than his asking price is another arrow in your quiver.

i watch c4s on ebay all the time and 4 times is VERY unusual especially for a car that nice selling for so low (5500) at one point. Something may be up in this case. Could always ask the seller about it and see what they have to say. It looks awesome.
eBay has situations where deals don't go through. Sometimes because owners think cars is sold off. eBay and cancel listing. CE are a slightly better value than most C4s. The car needs to be evaluated then a decision made.
