Hi, Today I checked the Automatic Transmission Identification number. The number is 9YDM323B.According to the service manual, the first digit indicates the model of the year.My car is a 1991, but the transmission is from 1989 or 1999, but probably not 1999. Is it common that the transmission year not match the year of the car?BTW, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Nope, there will be a tag with transmission code and serial number. The case itself will be stamped division # +last 8 of VIN it was installed in. Code you gave sounds like tag numbers. Its possible trans was replaced.
Thanks for the information.I was looking at seven possible VIN locations, but I couldn't find the VIN number. But I now know that the transmission year should match the year of the car.
