Good recommendation. B.A.T. is probably the best place to look for one. Sixteen Panteras went across their auction block in 2019. https://bringatrailer.com/detomaso/pantera/
….. Thanks … been there … get their daily news … unfortunately , I don't have 80K+ to invest … I'm hoping to find one that's been under a car cover for the last 15 years and was parked because it needed something expensive or extensive … I can invest some sweat equity … But thanks to all who have responded ! …..
Look up leno on yt...guy he interviews has some forum, bet you get lots of leads there.
Always wanted one too, just cant fit in them. PRobably take one over any camaro or vette.
A Holley miniblower would wake up that cleveland , dont need much more than that. What a body shape
….. I joined the POCA (Pantera Owners Club of America) … so far no leads on anything less than $100K … found one locally that's been parked for the last 9 years … $100K if it was for sale (it isn't) … also found an 80's aftermarket all fiberglass replica … Esprit Pantera … on a VW pan (for Christ's sake) … Still looking ! ….. My hunt turned up a plan "B" car … Factory Five Racing GTM … google it … very awesome piece ! …..
I had a good friend (RIP) who'd let me borrow his Pantera any time! What a car!! Pure sports car (with a/c). That car was fun to toss around! I was familiar with rear engine balance, but could visualize an inexperienced driver could get himself in trouble real quick!! I shook up a few passengers!!

I'm pretty sure they make a GT40 replica that you can spec out with pretty much anything you want. Might end up being cheaper to have a coyote powered one of those than finding a clean original Pantera lol. Panteras are really starting to be popular again for some reason with the collectors. Some of the shows on Motortrend have had some in them. Won't be long until they start selling for more than most houses on BAT or Barrett Jackson.
17k miles and needed a repaint already... Ain't that something.
Neat cars, but I'm going to be brutally honest here, this is one of those cars that when you boomers get older and start dying, these are going to CRATER. Guys my age aren't gonna spend big bucks on these, they're irrelevant to us, the ownership experience sounds like a nightmare, and they don't even have a cool muscle car vibe, nor the name Ferrari or Lamborghini.
Good luck in your search, and I hope you find your car and it brings you happiness. That's what really matters, not how much it'll be worth in the future.

….. 17K miles and almost 50 years old … needed paint , imagine that ? … Anyone hoarding Civic's or EVO's for when the millennials start to wax nostalgic and wish for the "good 'ol days to return ? ….. There were fewer than 8,000 Panteras sold in the States … 50 or so years ago … with a healthy American V8 behind your right ear … I doubt you have ever stood next to one … if you had , you might understand …..

Have you ever driven one? Of course, you're entitled to your own opinion. Everyone has one.
Are you wanting to start an argument about peoples taste in cars, or an argument about age, or what?

Nope, never driven, though my dad had a (wealthy) friend with one in the 90s.
Not looking to start an argument, just kind of my perspective on it. I don't think anyone should buy a car like that with the intent to make money off it as an investment. I always thought it was a neat idea for a car, I exotic body with a reliable American v8.

I have reviewed this thread, and nobody has said anything about buying one as an investment (except you). It's really difficult to make any money by flipping cars. You buy a car like this for the personal enjoyment! If you're looking for a good investment, try investing in lithium! Maybe we'll all be driving BEV's soon! (?) Why did you buy your Corvette??
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
