I always thought that 89 was the last but aren't there some odd 90 year cars that have transitional body and interior parts?

The 1990 base model was the last. The 1990 ZR-1 was different.

That's right. It seems every year of Corvette was the first or last for something.

The 1984 through 1990 bodies are the same, and the 1990 through 1996 interiors are the same. 1991 was the first year of the "new" body style.

90's are the best of both worlds....concave rear facia, big round tail lights, new dash and no breadbox

Just 2 add...

the 90 ZR-1 had the new rear fascia (convex, rectangular tail lights), BUT it had the old style front bumper fascia - an "odd duck" for sure. ALL ZR-1s had the wider tail, of course, and ALL Zs have the high mounted 3rd stop light. Subtle clues (along with the deep dish wheel nuts) that distinguishes the Zs and the std Vettes. (Come to think of it, aside from the LT5, A LOT of the ZR-1 was an "ODD DUCK" when you get right down toit. e.g., body clues, FX3, 8k tach, sport seats (all), ZF6 input nose shafts are unique to the Zs. I've monkeyed with cars my whole life, but nothing has been as pleasurable to work on as the ZR-1; and the LT5 is built like a fine watch - really have to "get into it" to appreciate. But, I digress..... Apologies to the OP.

Some don't like the newer dash I do like the no MAF speed density fuel delivery system and a 6 speed option. 89 or 90 six peed was what I tried to find....

I went from an '86 Indy 4+3 to the '90 vert ZF. It was like night and day. I've gone through 10 Vettes since 1959 and to me the ZF was the best thing to happen to the base car.
