Default Important - Military Appreciation message

We are so fortunate in this country to have the freedoms we enjoy.....and we wouldn't have them without the selflessness of the men and women who serve our country...........................
"If you are so inclined, visit the Department of Defense web page below and sign a brief message thanking the men and women of the U.S. military services for defending our freedom. The compiled list of names will be sent out to our soldiers at the end of the month. So far, there are only about 786,927 names. What a shame. November is National Military Appreciation Month (please pass it on to your email friends). http://www.defendamerica.mil/nmam.html

It takes 10 seconds...literally!"

Thanks for the info Gaijin. I absolutely agree with you. My nephew is serving near Kabul and it's been hard on his young family to be away for so long.

The names must be addin' up fast though... I was number 1,447,478

It DOES take 10 seconds... IF you type slow. :jester

Made me feel good to do it!! :D I know most Canadians feel the same way.I see the whole situation as nothing less than an ideological death struggle. If it wasn't for the bleeding heart liberals cutting the nads off the CIA etc. maybe it wouldn't have come to this!!I see that Osama has threatened Canada in his latest tape! :flag

You guys really don't know what this means to people like me that serve in the armed forces. Sometimes I think people don't care what I do because nobody acknowledges us unless there is some terrible event going on in the world. But when people do say things such as some of the things I have read. it really makes my eyes sweat knowing that people do care and think about me and my fellow brothers and sisters no matter what the occupational specialty, or branch of service we are in. I thank everyone in the corvette forum that has participated in this thread and read or sent a message out. You can all sleep safely while we take the reins of our country and keep it safe for you and your families. OOH-RAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would also like to thank my military brethren out there and additionally appreciate the posts.

I am, how you say, out the door. Will be leaving for the Mid East next Tuesday for my six month deployment. Glad to know your still thinking about us.
