Called down to Cooper's today and spoke to Tom. He advised me the transmission was in their hands and they were working on the car. It will not be ready today but will be ready tomorrow. I should have the car by thursday morning, ready to drive to work.

I had planned on going to the track this weekend but want to take it easy on the transmission and make sure everything is in order before beating on it. Plus I want to get a few miles on it, check the trans temps and see if I need a cooler.
Car is ready!! Go to pick it up tomorrow morning but need 200 miles break-in. So, who wants to meet up for lunch tomorrow that lives 200 miles away from Northern Virginia?
Mike
PS - when is the next track day? I need some time to check this baby out!!
Neither have I but considering my track record of breaking just about every part in a drivetrain, I will do what they tell me to.
One thing I have wondered is why do the vettes go through transmissions whereas the f-body's do not? Is it the way the exhaust is routed and the temps it deals with?
Certainly cant be the extra 25hp as this same transmission is behind the LS1 cars as well, but they dont have the problems the LT1, L98 cars do with autos.
I don't blame you, just because they don't need breaking in it would be wise to make sure everything is okay before you start banging gears around. Enjoy a leasurely cruise and then let the dog out of the cage.
