Up grading speakers
Last spring I added a new stereo to my c4 .
I was never happy with the front Memphis speakers and I will replace them this spring.
some where I read that tweeters located on the windshield posts will improve the sound quality.
Has anyone installed them and where do you find the molding to accept them?
Thanks

You'd have to custom fiberglass them in, usually you mount wood rings you'll mou t the tweeters in and then fiberglass a contour to them.

Thanks for the picture. What year is your corvette and could you hear a difference with the tweeters? I did not realize there was enough room to install speakers in the door.
Thanks

My 1986 had the Bose system. I thought all C4's had speakers in the doors. I did change the door panels and installed the speakers. There is plenty of room for door speakers. You can hear the difference with the tweeters even over the exhaust!!

I had tweeters in the dash on my old truck. The biggest thing is to make sure they're pretty symmetrical side to side otherwise they can sound... weird. Reflecting off the windshield can sound very good though and there is plenty of room up there without having to fab up the pillars.
