How do I identify an anniversary model? Is there special badging and/or markings? A local lot has a 93 that is advertised as an anniversary model but I don't see any badges on the front fenders. What is the hp rating? 300? I haven't stopped in yet, I wanted to be armed with the correct information first.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. :flag
First off it needs the RPO code Z25 and it needs to be ruby red inside and out also have the 40th badges on the side of the hood..... if it does not have the RPO code Z25 then no mater what color it is it is a 1993 but not a 40th edd... :seeya
Should be the LT1 300 HP. All 93 were 40th anniversary models. THey have a 40 th badge on the seats. The most popular is the 93 Ruby Package RPO Z25 which cost an additional $1455. It had ruby red exterior paint and interior leather that matched. 6,749 ruby's were produced. 40th badges on the fenders was also , I think , on all 93's. 21,590 93's were produced, of that number, only 448 were ZR ! equiped.
Only the Ruby Red 93 Vettes are "true" Anniversary models. All 1993 Corvettes had the 40th anniversary stitching in the seats, but they are not considered 40th anniversary editions. Many times those that are unknowledgable mistake a 93 vette for a 40th anniversary edition because they see the stitching in the seats. Then they advertise it as a 40th anniversary when it is not.
Also, only the ruby red 40th anniversary editions had the badges on each side of the hood. All were 300 HP LT-1's with either a 6 speed or an automatic available.
And don't let them tell you it's worth more because it's an anniversary--even if it's a ruby (though they are beautiful and the interiors are the prettiest, I think). Keep shopping. There are good deals out there.
Well, actually they ARE worth more money than a comparable '93 that is not an RPOZ25. Simply pick up a recent back issue of either Corvette Fever or Vette magazine and take a look at the Price Guides. Scroll down to the options section and take a look at the additional value that is placed on an RPOZ25 car.
As far as the distinguishing features of a 40th Anniversary car, they are: Chrome colored nose and gas door emblems, Ruby Red center caps on the rims, 40th Anniversary badging on the sides of the hood, Ruby Red exterior paint, Ruby red carpet/leather seating/door panels, on a convertible the cloth top will also be Ruby red in color. All cars produced in 1993 (except the ones with cloth interior - yes, that was still available in '93) came out of the factory with the 40th Anniversary logo embroidered into the headrest area on both seats - this was done to commemorate this particular Anniversary. The embroidery is the only thing that Anniversary and non-Anniversary cars share that was part of the "cosmetics" of the whole thing. Non-anniversary cars do not carry any badging on the hood.

If it is a ruby, but it. They are, in my humble opinion, the top C4 ( along with the 96 GS and CE ) in color combination and looks.   :seeya WISH MINE WERE A RUBY
