If it IS the EGR solenoid, and those exposed pins shorted to ground, it would blow a fuse that could result in a no-start. I don't have my books with me, but in a 91 I believe it will be GAUGES, A/C, IGN 1, fuse. Check the pin with the pink/blk wire for voltage with the key = ON. If there is no voltage, check fuses.
thanks my fuse box is ticking also and my battery is drained as well.

Well i can start the car with starter fluid but a real rough idle and if i dont press the gas it dies but i cant get it above 1000rpms or it backfires.

so i checked my fuses and the gauges one was bad so i replaced it and it still doing the same thing.
