The one thing I regularly curse with my C4 (96 coupe) is the (expletives) shoulder belt. However I adjust my seat, the belt somehow ends up riding on my neck. I'm a short guy - 5'8" on those rare occasions I stand up straight. I figure if I were 2 or 3 inches taller I wouldn't have this problem. But I'm not, and I do. I've tried adjusting my seat just about every time I drive the car. That's a lot of times. I have not found a sweet spot where I'm not too close to the pedals and steering wheel without neck irritation.
So if there's anybody on here with relevant suggestions, I'd like to read them. TIA
Do you have power seats or manual? There is a lot of adjustment in the power seats that you don't get with the manual seats. If you don't have power seats, it's relatively easy to add them. You just need the seat bases, switches, and harness.
If you already have the power seats, maybe you could borrow one of those plastic guides if a newer car that holds the shoulder belt down a little bit.
Yes. Thanks for reminding me of the obvious I've been overlooking. I had bought one for this car, but made a poor buying choice. The one I bought just changes the discomfort, so I never use it. I had one I sort of liked in another car. So ....
i am 5'6" so i know what you are dealing with. my solution, and i will probably get flamed among other things for this but, i don't use the seat belt. my life, my solution.
How about attaching a lower seat cushion to yours to raise yourself up. Saw it on a car restoration show and they used elastic straps so it could be easily taken on/off.

I'm 5'6 and with the power seat raised fairly far up i've never noticed this.
I do remember a long time ago when I first started driving at 16, I was a couple inches shorter and my first car (a firebird) had no power seats, I had to sit on a pillow so I could see, lol. One of the reasons I bought my C4 Corvette was it seemed built for shorter slender guys like myself, unlike new cars which are made for a different body type. A bonus of being shorter is with the seat positioned forward for driving I get decent amount of room for storage behind my seat.
I guess The difference is the power sport seats compared to the manual versions.
That's cold, Fauee. Also a little bit funny. I expected some harangue posting this. Actually I find the car quite comfortable for me. I have standard power seats. I have no problem finding comfortable driving positions. But the damned shoulder belt always ends up on my neck. And it's the only car I own or have owned lately that has that issue.

People had already exhausted all the useful suggestions so I figured the funny suggestions were on deck.
I never liked the seat belts in my car, I had more issues with the lap belts sitting up too far. So I fixed that with 6 point harnesses.
I don’t think the shorter guys have any idea how easy it is to get in and out of a C4 if you are short. I look like a Hulk trying to squeeze into a Mini Cooper...haha.

Yup, like I said the C4 is built for smaller guys, having the seat all the way up i'm sure does make getting in/out easier as does having shorter legs. Also no concerns about my head hitting the roof and the car being nice an low means I can wash the roof easily
It is always funny anytime I let any of my taller friends drive it and watch as they try to sit in the seat that I left positioned up and forward. Usually they are playing with the buttons on the seat bolster trying to get themselves unstuck after sitting down, not realizing the controls they need to use are in the console.
