Default Question

What is the grey box that a harness is plugged into behind the bread box? I had to replace the heater core and when I got in there it was unplugged due to mice eating the harness it so I had to repair it.
thanks for any info
Jeff

Looks like your ECM to me. (Engine Control Module)

That's not the ECM. The ECM is in a tan plastic box, it's much larger than that, and the harness plugs into the bottom. It's not a great picture, but to me, that looks like the security system module. "VATS".

I know it’s not a good picture but also knew it wasn’t the ecm. To leave it unplugged must be ok then?

I'm sure if you plug it back in you will soon find out why it was unplugged!

If it's what I think it is, the car won't start w/it unplugged.

So, you post a half-assed picture of a part on your car this morning and by 3PM you haven't received the answer to your problem and it's our fault? Most Vette owners have a job on Monday, that's how they afford a Vette! I'm sure we will be better off without you on here if that's your attitude!

Tom400CFI told you what he thought it was in one post and then further replied by stating that if it is the VATS the car likely won’t start with it unplugged.

OP, you post a crap picture and then expect instant gratification.

You sir are the problem, not us! This type of self entitled, closed minded, **** poor attitude is exactly what is wrong with the current generation and is certainly going to get you flamed on a public forum.
