Default C4 Electrical questions

Hello all,
Nice to be back. Been gone for a while. Still having issues with the old vette.
Question: Where does the main ground wire that comes off the driver's side of the block attach? I found it hanging down when I brought the car home. The manual I have does not show in the diagram the frame attachment point. I attached it to a point where a brake line bolts on. Funny thing is the security system started working after that and locked me out of the car.

I think this is where my EST connector is supposed to go. Please advise.

Hey Mark. I do not have a '85 but based on your picture, that is where the EST plug should be as it is tan with a black stripe. Not sure why a previous owner replaced with with a household screw on wire cap. Maybe the original plastic connector broke due to age. Regarding your ground situation, I cannot find the mounting point on the frame but it sounds like found a good spot for it as other electrical systems started working. Hopefully another '85 owner can more up a picture where the ground is attached.

Thanks for the feedback. My car won't start and I am pretty sure it is electrical. Currently running down wires. I have rebuilt the distributor, put on new wires and plugs. I have spark and fuel but this car has been giving me issues ever since I did a transmission service, changed oil, flushed the radiator. I may cry uncle and take it to a shop for help. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

There is a ground wire location that comes off the back of the head on the drivers side of the engine. I had to remove the windshield wiper motor to get to mine. The other ground on that side you can find by following the battery ground wire to it's location.
