When I shut my headlights off, the drivers side headlight makes this REALLY loud knocking noise in closing position, and it doesn’t stop until unplugged. Does anyone know if it’s the gear that’s gone or maybe the bushings. Can someone let me know, cause I’m not sure what’s going on. This only happens when I’m closing the headlight not when opening. Thanks let me know
Its definitely the bushings. Check out my repair thread below. I just did this a few weeks ago. Set aside an hour or two to do both headlights. Not that hard, just a little finicky and time consuming.

As Auggy said, buy the bushings first and have them on hand when you open them up. 95% of these motors just need the bushings. If gears are needed you can cross that bridge when you get there.
