My battery has been dieing, so put a meter on it and it is drawing .6 A when just sitting. I pulled all the fuses individually and one came up with that value, The CTSY/CLK. I beleive it is the interior lights. I installed LEDs. Is that possibly the problem? Or could it be the light switch itself?
Also cant find a pic of the fuse block labeling if any one has that.
Having a similar problem on my '92. What did you use to check amp draw? Amp clamp on a multi meter? I noticed when I connect the negative battery cable the left hand headlight motor "clunks" Please let me know what you use to check amp draw.
Thanks, Dave.
You can find these on ebay. I had it laying around from another project. I used another batt. cable that has flat connectors, ran it through the sensor, bolted one side to batt. the other to the cable on the car, put clips on the power cable and ran to battery for power.
Will do more testing when I have time. Need to figure out what the offending circuit does. I did find a circuit board online that can replace the light timer so that the door switches run the lights when you open the door and turn them off when you close the door.
NO, the LEDs would not be drawing current, especially if everything is turned off/timed out.
That circuit on my 90 includes a host of things - e.g., door locks, floor lights, mirror lights, etc, including (perhaps) even the radio antenna?? Point is, .6A (i.e., 600mA) is just a wee bit more than the normal 20mA±.! Do you have an FSM? In the back of the FSM is a section on electrical schematics for each of the circuits on the fuse panel. But, if you don't have one, tell us what year car you have and someone may be able to post a picture of the schematic for you. Then you can know where to start breaking the circuit down till you isolate the culprit!
Check the console lid light, I've had problems with the switch not aligned right and so the light wasn't turning off when closed...I seem to recall the light will stay on all the time.

I found that the LCM light control module runs for 15 minutes after you close the door and if I can recall draws about .6 of an amp. Put your meter back on and watch it for about 15 min. The cycle starts again if you open the door. I finally just pulled the fuse. Who needs the grief. I think I also pulled out the cargo bulbs. The lights on the mirrow still work on/off.
