Default D44 cover leak

Finally getting around to fixing the cover leak. Been putting it off for more that 10 years now.

Did you have to drop your spare tire carrier or did you remove it in the past?

yes, it has been gone for a long time. If you notice there is a fuel pump mounted there now.

If the cover hardware is original production hardware I'd tap and use premium hardware. If hardware is original you should be able to rotate in your fingers and feel the 'tri-obal' (self threading) nature of the bolts. I've seen studs used but that could be considered maybe a stretch. I've a friend who uses a 'gasket' - and yes there is a gasket available for it!

**he'd probably do a new vent also.

I'd prefer maybe an 'over the counter' stud to my own fabrication. I'd think a reasonably easy find. 12-point head bolts more often the choice I believe.

Looks like she's been running a little rich. I love your lift, but those scissors-jacks make me cringe.

Thank you ! yeah holley double pumpers tend to be a little on the rich side lol You might have missed it. I have jack stands just in front of the scissor jacks
