When I pulled my engine recently I noticed the motor mounts had a cover on them. They appear to be heat shield? At any rate they are pretty greasy and dirty so I went to search for some online but not finding anything. Are these unique to c4s?
If you look close at them you will see that they are flat heat shield material folded up and stapled. You can carefully unfold them and replicate them using Thermo Tec or other heat shield stuff. If you are running wrapped long tube headers I don't think you even need them. The "tiger King" stock big cats would heat the hydraulic mounts up but headers are generally pretty far away and not nearly as hot.
looks like clean and try and refurbish existing provisions.
I do have long tubes and I was going to wrap them during this project but I have read a bunch of stuff saying it helps and stuff saying it doesent. This one guy went with the best thickest coating and used an infrared thermometer to determine there was no change under hood temps. Primary tubes were ~700 deg before and after.
