Hello,
I bought a great example of a 1989 Corvette Coupe about 10 months ago. It had 39,000 miles but needed the usual things-seats, radio, weather stripping, etc. I am now changing out the carpet to really finish off all the work I've done so far. As I started with the driver door, I thought this would be a good time to ask if anyone knows how to adjust the window. It's in line, but seems to lean in too much once it's all the way up. This makes shutting the door extremely difficult. Anyone having trouble shutting doors on the first try? I kind of remember that this was an issue back in 1986 when I bought my first new C4.
Thank you in advance for any advice or tips.
Bernard
The window adjust on three axis, It has and angle adjustment as well. Search the forum for help because it is just too much to type. Post pictures of your current issues and with door panel off is possible. Factory service manual helps greatly with this but it’s a pain. You have to get correct Windsor settings then worry about wind noise and water leaks. If you didn’t buy oem weatherstripping (almost completely unavailable) I would call the vendor you bought weatherstrip from for a summary adjustment sheet if you did replace weatherstrip. I have done 5-6 and usually take many hours with the help of a second person and some talc powder to see gaps. If you have a local corvette club reach out to them, first time is hardest and you WANT THIS RIGHT NOT JUST GOOD ENOUGH!
