I posted in the what did you do thread today but thought I would repeat it here as I am looking for some feedback and probably should not clog up that thread with responses. I wanted a rear wind deflector for my 89 vert. While there are not many to choose from for the C4 and the one I really want is the lighted plexi one with the C4 emblem etched in it, I cant spend the 400 right now. So... I looked around and decided to fabricate my own. Let me know if you think it looks ok or if it is obviously cobbled together. It is my first attempt and I will try for different or better materials if I like it. It does work very well. Let me know what you think?

Thanks for the responses. I am using a screen mesh so that I can still see out the rear view mirror. If I cover it with cloth I lose that. And I am lucky..... I have all my hair!
Sharv, I had a 1995 Miata for 19 years and installed a wind deflector made out of a black mesh material. It mounted to the seat backs at the headrest level and attached with Velcro. It worked great, really eliminating the annoying back draft with the top down. Even when pounding across I-70 at triple digits!. If my C4 was a vert I would definitely consider one..

So I built one and tested it out yesterday. I would say it reduced the wind by 50% at very least.
My net costs was a $20 sawblade from Amazon to cut up a repurposed covid shield. I welded up the brackets out of 2 old shelf brackets and I used foam pipe insulation spray glued to the brackets to provide a cushion tightening up the screws that held the bracket to the plexi.
$20 is better than $770
