I am just curious. Why would you look for someone to rebuild rather than buy a rebuilt from a vendor? Unfortunately local rebuilding is a long lost trade as far as I know. Or... a new one rather than rebuilt?

I'm guessing because i think a real ACDelco that's rebuilt sells for over $300 and i bet the service would be much cheaper. i just did a water pump on my 87' last week and went with Flowkooler for $125.
When I did my opti on my 95' a couple years ago i didn't like my LT1 waterpump options at that time (i think because of the prices and everything negative that i read about the ACDelco's) so i decided to not replace it (it wasn't bad anyways i was just considering it while i was right there and already had it off the car).
So i do get why he's asking and since the OP has been in the forums for almost 20 years i'm sure he knows what he wants...this is just my assumption anyways.
Honestly, I'm a little curious about this thread because i'd like to know if rebuilding is still an option since i just did one and found the options to be not as abundant has i had hoped. even buying my nice Flowkooler, i had to "make it work" because i wasn't able to get the heater hose nipple tube out of the old WP and guess what, there are no direct replacements anymore for a TPI WP so i went with Dorman and needed to take a hand file to the nut just to make the waterpump clear it...i might make a youtube video on that whole fiasco which also included modifying the molded rubber "T"...end result was it turned out good, i've put hundreds of pretty hard miles on her in the past 2 weeks without a single issue/leak/blow-up
Thanks Mark for the feedback. I guess I did not think just calling the parts store and getting a replacement would be a problem. That is why I read the boards every day to learn in advance what I can.

for me the problem was the heater hose tube/nipple. i spent an entire day online and running from store to store and couldn't find one that was the same "style" (long and narrow..required to clear the A/C pump bracket). I was a little peeved that i just lost an entire day for something that i could have planned for but when researching this repair, nobody mentioned the heater hose tube (as part of the up-front plan) and since I don't have a torch to try and remove it i had to improvise. i wasn't happy but end result is it turned out just fine...i just wish i wasn't caught off guard and delayed.
I'll post a photo of the new pump with the dorman nipple..you can see the large hex/nut portion of the tube is right where the A/C bracket mounts and i wasnt able to clear it so i had to hand-file one of the hex peaks.
Well hate to throw it out like in the past i kick my *** for tossing parts out that can be rebuilt. Like my 77 i found it is easy to find rebuilders with high quality. So i was just reaching out for some one to give me some direction on a rebuilder here in New England.CT to be exact! We will not createshortages in the future for these cars if we rebuild instead of tossing in trash.

I went with the standard AC Delco part, which I think was $80 off Amazon at the time. Whatever route you go, you may want to consider adding this weep hole drain to the install. Cost me $4 and could possibly save the Opti-Spark down the road.
