Default CA Smog Emissions Question

Hey Everyone,

California SMOG / Emissions question for you:

I recently purchased a 1985 C4 and have done a fair amount of work to get it running. Once the clutch is replaced, it will be ready for a smog check. I was able to obtain a good ECM and PROM combo from out of state which finally got it running!

My question is....Does anyone know if Corvettes destined for California were equipped with a different PROM chip than other states? I was told that the car always passed smog historically but who knows. Im trying to anticipate potential courses of action if it fails the smog check. I believe my Vette is stone-stock so I don't have to deal with any "Visual check" / customization related issues.

Thanks!

85 pcm youre fine. You can do a pre test to see if it will pass before its run through the machine.
