New Member Help Needed! Odd Problem with 93
Hello all. I have an issue that has me pulling my hair out and I hope that someone has seen this before.
Car is a 93 - issue is, sometimes I start the car and all is well, sometimes (more often), I start the car, the electric fans are on, A/C doesn't work (fan does, but will not blow cold air), Speedometer/Odometer does not work (display is still active though), SYS light & Security flashes in dash (installed aftermarket radio, did the resistor mod, have plugged factory unit back in to troubleshoot and this still happens), Service Engine light is on, Service ASR light is on, car idles fast. If I start the car and all of the above is normal, it can idle for 5 minutes or so, I hear a click, a slight hesitation, and all of the conditions I mentioned are back. While driving, sometimes all of these will clear up, then come back. This one has me pulling my hair out, any help is appreciated!

You need to start checking the DTCs (trouble codes - indicated by Service Engine light).

Joe, from the conditions you posted, there is a lot more going on with the wiring. Loose connections, shorts, etc. Trouble codes will help locate some
conditions, but your wiring could be a mess.

I'm definitely hoping not of course, car has 27k on it and wiring hasn't been touched other than the stereo. Going to look at the codes today and go from there
