Default I-10 West-bound

Greetings all,

Going home from Pensacola, Florida to Anacortes, Washington a week from this Friday. Any nasty road construction/hazards I need to know about along the I-10 Westbound and the I-5 Northbound? Have a great holiday weekend.

Life is Good!

If no AAA, you might try one of the web mapping sites.

I-5 north from LA to the Oregon border is good road and no problems. I drove from LA to Redding last week...might get some fog up the valley this time of year and it can be a bit*#ch!

All I can tell you is that I-10 thru Louisiana is closely patrolled by the state police especially just west of Baton Rouge on the Bridge that seems to be 25 miles long and when you get to the west side of Lake Charles there is a city named Sulphur. This city is a speed trap, if the posted limit is 70 do 69.. Maybe some other South La cajun will ring in about construction, seems like there is always construction on I-10.

Not a lot of construction north on I-5 in Washington except between milepost 92 and 100 (South of Olympia). You should be OK anywhere else. There is some construction work north of Vancouver, but you can get through it fairly quickly.

The WA State Patrol is doing emphasis patrols in all construction area. Fines for violations in construction zones are doubled and according to the news, they are not giving out warnings and anything over the construction zone speed limit is a ticket.

Take I12. Bypass New Orleans and save your self a few hours. You will be able to pick up 10 again in Baton Rouge in the Sherwood Forrest area.

I have to drive from L.A. to Phoenix and back every 10-14 days. I've been doing this for the last 7 months. From Phoenix to the Ca. border I'm never below 100mph. But once you get into Ca. you better slow your butt down. Watch out for those CHP's!
