I took my car to the same detail shop I always do and some new guy there almost backed into a BMW suv. He jumped in the vette, fired it up, put the car in reverse instead of drive, gave it a little too much gas, and then my eyes opened to about 2" as he stopped the car about 3" from the suv behind him. The dumbazz tried saying that my automatic car just started up while in reverse. WTF. Whatever. My car had been sitting still in with the engine off and in neutral for 5 min before he got there. Whoa, that was close.
You get out of your car and leave it in neutral? That could be asking for trouble. :smash: Thank Goodness the vette has good brakes or you would have had a smashed rear end.
yeah, some service tech did hit mine....with a Yukon....the day I was supposed to pick it up. Well, three weeks later and a freshly painted front end, it's mine...

I left it in park, but when the guys vacuuming out are done and move it into the soft wash the car is mechanically moved through the wash with rollers under the tires. So, they shut the engine off and leave the car in neutral.
Just a dumb question.....but why don't you detail your own vette...???????
It will make you happy...happy...happy....elf gratification..personified...no one touches my vette but me....kind of stupid...right????? Nooooooooooooooo.
I don't mind wiping down my engine and I'll wipe down the dash, but for $12 I get it washed, vacuumed, windows cleaned inside and out, everything else inside wiped down, the outside gets blown dried and then any remaining water it hand wiped off. It only takes them about 10-15 minutes to do depending on how busy they are. $12 for this is well worth it to me.

:nonod: Not me. I am the only one detailing my car....no matter the price.
