Well, I gave it a whirl. The bottoms clipped in easy enough. The backrests however, were more than my wrists could put up with. I'll take it to a local upholstery shop Wednesday to have them snap the backs into place. Besides...it's 91 degrees right now and will get warmer yet today. One thing I've noticed. The new seats make the rest of the car interior seem old. The old seats made the interior look pretty good.

The people at Al Knock Interiors do REALLY nice work. Your seats look awesome!
I am getting ready to do the same for my 1988 C4 with it's Grey Interior. When the old leather decides to go it sure happens quickly. I had the perforated leather covers and they started tearing.
Your comment about the rest of the interior hits home, I plan on replacing the factory carpeting at the same time as I am putting the seats back in the Corvette. I have to remove both seats to get them working again, getting too hot to work outdoors here in Northern Virginia, 98* outdoors right now.
Thanks for the pictures of your beautiful seats in your Corvette! It is motivating and will help Al out in the long run. I have a convertible top and two leather seats in my C3 from Al and I am 100% satisfied with my purchases from him
Install yourself. Be thankful you don't have sport seats. I ordered a set from Al Knoch, took them to a local installer that said they were Corvette seat experts.... 6 weeks later,..,.no seats. A week after that I went to pick them up...looked like sh*t. Due to them being sport seats, I had to pack the entire seats and frames and send to Al Knoch, (UPS $540 shipping) 5 weeks later, still not ready from Al Knoch.
I installed my first set of leather seat covers myself using parts from Al Knock Interiors. It was hard to do and less than a year later one thread popped loose on the drivers seat base cushion. I talked to Al about it and he suggested that I return BOTH seats and "they would take care of it."
About three weeks later the two seats came home after they had installed two new sets of leather seat covers and replaced many parts from my seats. The workmanship is second to none and the quality speaks for itself. They seat back cover on the back of the seats was not in the best of shape, it came back looking brand new as they had re-finished or replaced the parts.
I was kind of expecting him to fix the one side's base but not Al, he recovered Both seats in leather and he did not charge me a dime. I didn't even have to pay for the shipping which was not cheap either.
Al Knock Interiors is a great company run by a Smart business-man who wants HAPPY customers!
Then hook the inside in, and pushed to get the outer hooks to lock into place.
What do you think a upholstery shop is going to do, open the clips and charge you.
Hi, I tried bending the clips out some. I've had three surgeries on my right hand and two on the left. Just can't get the clips to latch before there is no more grip or push in the hands left. Going to have to be an upholstery shop. Thanks for the suggestion though. Appreciate it!

I had an issue with trying to get my seats installed as well. I finally decided to trim away some of the foam around the wire where the clips fit. You can't hurt anything and it can't be seen.
I used electrical tie-wraps to get the seat covers into position where I could put the hog-rings around the wires and squeeze them together. I read that you shouldn't simply use the tie-wraps alone, but using them to locate things together makes the actual job much easier. You can push with one hand while you pull it tight with the other hand. You can clip them off if you want afterwards, but I just left mine in place.
